We appreciate that the ongoing CityFibre works are causing disruption, and would like to thank you all for your patience.

These works form part of Project Gigabit – a UK Government programme managed by Building Digital UK (BDUK) – which aims to bring lightning-fast, gigabit-capable broadband to hard-to-reach communities like ours.

We’ve met with CityFibre to raise concerns about local traffic and access. They’ve assured us that they’re working to resolve issues as quickly and safely as possible.

We’ll continue liaising closely with CityFibre and will share updates when we have them.

Do we have any idea on a plan or dates for intended roads given Helen O'Connor comments above at least then residents could plan to limit impact to themselves if they need to go out.

Do you know when they will be finished? Only asking because I want decent Fibre!!!!!

Is this the works where they dig up the road without any warning and block your car on the drive way without knocking to let you know?

Their temporary traffic lights on Satchell Lane repeatedly failed last time causing chaos. Please could you raise this with them if they are using these again. Thanks 🙏

From local identity to service quality, this is your chance to influence how local government will work in the future across Hamble and Eastleigh.

The Government has asked councils to look at creating unitary councils that would:
✅ Be responsible for most local services in one place
✅ Replace the current two-tier system (county and borough councils)
✅ Keep parish councils like Hamble to manage local services and community priorities

The goal is to make services more efficient, but local voices are critical to ensure quality and identity are protected.

Take 10 minutes to complete the survey before 27 July:

Oh good luck neighbours, it was an absolute nightmare when they did the other end of the road; blocked driveways, traffic lights not functioning, cars damaged.
