Help for the Most Vulnerable

Eastleigh Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and Hamble Parish Council, are working with organisations and local volunteer groups to help connect those who are self-isolating because they are at a higher risk from coronavirus, with a network of community volunteers. The volunteers can help with the collection and delivery of essential items, like food and prescription medicines, and also just get in touch for a chat. If you have help from friends, family or neighbours, please do this in the first instance so those who don’t have this support can be better helped.

Who is this support for?
This is to support people who are self-isolating (and so cannot leave their home) because they are particularly vulnerable to coronavirus, and who do not have existing help from family, friends or neighbours. They might include:

  • people with a serious health condition (and are ‘extremely vulnerable’)
  • people who are over 70, anyone instructed to get a flu jab each year on medical grounds and pregnant women
  • people who are displaying coronavirus symptoms
  • people who are self-isolating for other reasons

If you can get help from friends, family, or neighbours, please do this in the first instance so those who can’t can be better helped.

How it works
If you require assistance, please contact the following community group which covering Hamble, Netley, Bursledon, Hedge End, West End and Botley (information on other areas in the Borough can be found towards the bottom of this page)

Request Support

Eastleigh Borough Council will ask for some details from you that they will pass on to the community group closest to where you live.

This community group will then contact you to discuss what essential supplies you need and when and how they will be able to get them to you. They’ll also be able to put you in touch with someone you can just have a chat with.

Keeping you safe
Delivery volunteers have been instructed to avoid any unnecessary social contact. Therefore, they will ring your doorbell, drop the supplies at your door and then leave.

Would you like to become a volunteer?
