When we have a vacancy for a councillor on the Parish Council we have to formally adertise it and give residents the option to ask for a by election. If ten residents decide they want the vacancy filled through an election, the vacancy will be held open until next May as the Government has suspeneded all elections this year due to Corona Virus. If no by election is called the Council will invite people that are interested to apply and will then coopt them. More information on this will be available if a by election isnt called. If you want more information about the process for advertising vancancies or becoming a Councillor get in touch with me.
