At its meeting on Monday the Planning Committee heard concerns raised by both members of the public and representatives from the Mercury Residents Association about issues arising from the proposed gravel extraction by Cemex on the Airfield.  The latest position is that Cemex are continuing to prepare for a pre-application consultation but no date is yet available.

Consideration was also given to the recent traffic survey results which the Parish Council had commissioned and had used, in part, to reply to Hampshire County Councils Hamble Lane Corridor Study as well as its response to the GE Aviation Planning Application.  The survey shows that Hamble has an extended peak period in both the morning and the afternoon which is longer than in other parts of the county.  Work is now focusing on a business survey with a view to developing a Hamble Travel Plan.  Further traffic surveys are planned over the next month or so and will provide a complete pattern of traffic across the village.

Lastly a resident came along to tell us about an application he had made to have the pill box listed on Satchell Lane.  The Council will watch with interest and support it as needed.
